This photoshoot was influenced Olafur Eliasson’s art installation Your Blind Movement, a smoke and light installation that forces exhibition goers to use senses other than sight to navigate themselves through dense fog.

In the shoot below, I took inspiration and combined elements from six artists: Jaime Nelson (dewy makeup with coloured lighting and prismatic effect), Petra Collins (soft focus and lens flares), Pino Gomes & Moises Ramirez (use of interesting makeup with wigs and close-up portraits), Maisie Collins (lens flares and pink/blue colouring) and Maggie West (positioning of the face – tilted upwards); As with all my photoshoots I did all the styling for these images including hair and makeup.
The shoot above was taken at Gods Own Junkyard, a warehouse that is filled with reclaimed and salvaged neon signs. I was heavily influenced by Mathew Guido’s Eye Candy and photographer Chris Schoonover, particularly his April 2016 issue of Nylon Magazine.
These images make up my final piece for Glow, in which I collated images from the project to create three storyboards that convey a story much like a key scenes moodboard from a film. My key influences were cinematographers Roger Deakins (Blade Runner 2049) and Natasha Braier (The Neon Demon). Both films have a strong visual aesthetic featuring scenes bathed in neon.
